3D Cloth making Application : A Survey

Marvelous-D Clo3D is a 3D cloth making application that allows the user to cut cloth patterns as fashion designers would before draping and sewing them around an “avatar” (an A-posed character). For our purpose, however, MD is first and foremost an amazing cloth simulation engine, with striking real-time capability. Although it evokes 3ds Max’s garment maker and seems based on similar principles, its engine is incredibly fast and allows real-time interactions (pulling and pushing of the cloth while draping). You can simply import your object in Clo3D and start draping on it.

Wacom's New 24HD Cintiq

Like to draw? How about drawing on a 24-inch digital screen? Wacom announced the Cintiq 24HD. At 24 inches, it’s Wacom’s largest interactive pen display so far.

The 24HD features a built-in 24-inch screen, which sports 1,920-by-1,200 pixel resolution. It has a 178-degree viewing angle, and 16:10 widescreen aspect ratio. The display can also be color calibrated for color-sensitive workflows.

There are 2,048 levels of pen pressure sensitivity, allowing the 24HD to detect even a single gram of force. The included Cintiq Grip Pen has a comfortable, contoured barrel that provides a natural alternative to using a mouse. Wacom also includes a number of pen nibs (tips) that are made from a variety of materials. In addition to the Standard nib, the Stroke nib includes a dual-action spring to simulate a natural brush-like feel, and the Felt nib replicates the sensation of using a felt-tip marker.

That large screen does have a downside. The 24HD weighs a whopping 63.8 pounds, which means it isn’t too portable. Still, Wacom has integrated a number of features to make the 24HD suitable for using it in a permanent workstation. The display is attached to a counterweighted stand that allows you to easily adjust its position. You can adjust the position of the stand so that the display overhangs the edge of your desk, allowing it to sit in your lap.

The 24HD also incorporates a number of new productivity features. Finger-size Touch Rings positioned on either side of the display can be customized to perform functions such as zooming, scrolling and changing brush size. There are also ten customizable Express Keys, in addition to the pen side-switch, which can be set for application specific short-cuts and modifiers.

The Cintiq 24HD is available to order from Wacom starting today for $2499. For comparison, the 21-inch 21UX costs $1999 and the 12-inch 12WX costs $999.

How 3d movies are made ?

3D cinema is apon us. I have seen a number of 3D movies in the last few years… From “Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs” to “Final Destination 3D” now I have always been amazed by 3D cinema…from the late eighties movie “THE BLOB” Wearing the blue and red glasses…and then thinking ITS NOT WORKING!! ARGH!!!! But with these new polarised glasses in cinemas…A technology governed by REAL D, A DISNEY owned company. 3D is dominated by Disney…this is a good thing as Disney is an advocator of wholesome content….sometimes
HOW DOES 3D WORK YOU SAY?

Funny you ask that….It is filmed with two lenses as pictured on this concept picture below:

It is designed to mimic the eye…. for example: HOLD YOUR HAND OUT IN FRONT OF YOU….. Close one eye and focus on it….then close the other eye—>Opening the closed eye…. notice the hand changes spots…the background changes…when your brain puts this together…..it is a REAL LIFE 3D EXPERIENCE…. just like 3D films it captures the same images from different view points (slightly) to mimic the eye…with editing it is put together and then viewed on a projected with a special lense…then your POLARISED GLASSES convert the image into ONE…. if you take of the glasses in the film you will often see two images on screen….the glasses convert it into one….

TRICK FOR 3D CINEMA….when you are watching a film…. a few points in the film…look below glasses and focus on your leg, arm or popcorn box for a few seconds then go back to the screen as normal…this helps keep it all good…. this is just a trick of mine. As Nasa says on their website about 3D glasses, “This method is more comonly used in today’s 3D movie projections. The audience must wear special glasses which have two polarizing lenses which have their polarization directions adjusted to be 90 degrees different. This makes is possible that left eye sees it’s picture without problems but everything ment to right eye (sent out at different polarization) seems to be black. Same applies also to right eye.”

Restaurant Interior Design 3dsmax

Details of 3d Materials, Architectural Materials were used. For lights i used Mental ray with a spotlight as sun and a omni in the center of the scene, since the sunlight was not enough to illuminate the center of the restaurant. The render of this single frame took 45 minutes on a P4-2 gigs of ram. Here i used Mental ray with final gather, global illumination "ON" final gather with the value of 500 and for bounce lights the value of 1.
